Employment & Labor

Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP has a strong employment practice, which has assisted and advised clients for decades on virtually every aspect of the employment relationship. Our lawyers work with clients in various industries across Colorado, including public and private companies and public entities. We also have represented clients in matters pending in various other states.

Our Employment Law Group has been extremely successful in litigating all types of employment disputes, including cases involving allegations of discrimination and harassment based on race, sex, national origin, age, pregnancy, disability, and sexual orientation, as well as associated retaliation claims. We also regularly prosecute and defend lawsuits seeking damages and injunctive relief for violations of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements and for theft of trade secrets. The firm has an extensive track record of winning trials before judges and juries, prevailing on motions, and obtaining favorable settlements for our clients.

Davis Graham represents clients in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies on a regular basis, including, without limitation, matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, and various other state and federal agencies. This representation includes assisting clients with investigations and audits, defending charges of discrimination and retaliation and unfair labor practice charges, and negotiating favorable settlements.

Drawing on extensive litigation and administrative experience, our employment lawyers provide day-to-day counseling designed to emphasize risk reduction in areas typically giving rise to lawsuits. We assist clients in drafting and rewriting employment and non-competition agreements, employee handbooks and policy manuals, and drug and alcohol testing programs. Our employment lawyers also assist with planning other personnel actions ranging from terminations of employment on both an individual and alarge-scale basis.  We stay apprised of the ever-changing employment law landscape, including new laws on pay transparency, non-competes, and paid/unpaid leave.
