Press Releases | February 7, 2023 Former Chord Energy Executive M. Scott Regan Joins Davis Graham

Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that former Chord Energy executive M. Scott Regan has joined the firm as of counsel. Mr. Regan’s practice will focus primarily on upstream and midstream transactional and corporate matters. He brings to Davis Graham nearly two decades of experience in the energy industry, including recently as a senior executive of publicly traded oil and gas companies. His transactional experience has covered a wide variety of energy matters, including the acquisition and divestiture of upstream and midstream assets and corporate mergers.

Prior to joining Davis Graham, Mr. Regan was Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Chord Energy Corporation, a position to which he was appointed in connection with the $6 billion merger of equals of Whiting Petroleum Corporation and Oasis Petroleum Inc. He was previously the Vice President, Legal, General Counsel and Secretary of Whiting. Prior to Whiting, he held positions of increasing responsibility in the legal department of Encana (now Ovintiv) from 2004 to 2015, where, most recently, he was the Vice President of Legal, Western and Southern Operations. Mr. Regan began his legal career in 1996 with the law firm of Crowley, Haughey, Hanson, Toole & Dietrich (now Crowley Fleck) in Helena, Montana, and joined Holland & Hart in 1998 in the Denver office.

Mr. Regan received his B.A. in History, with honors, from Montana State University and his J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law, where he was an editor of the Montana Law Review.
