As Conflicts Counsel for Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP, Catherine serves as the point person for risk management and conflicts of interest questions for all attorneys across the firm. She works closely with the firm’s general counsel to identify and resolve potential or actual conflicts of interest with current and former clients, as well as provide research and counseling related to legal ethics and professional responsibility issues. Catherine manages the Conflicts team responsible for identifying and resolving conflicts of interest that arise with new business and lateral hires, drafting and reviewing engagement letters and conflict waiver letters, reviewing and negotiating outside counsel guidelines, creating ethical walls, and reviewing marketing materials, attorney publications, and personal interest disclosures for compliance with the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct.

Catherine also manages the New Business Intake Department at Davis Graham, which is responsible for accurately and efficiently opening all new business files and maintaining accurate data in the firm’s conflicts database. A former loss prevention attorney for two different AmLaw 100 firms, Catherine has advised attorneys across the nation on a wide range of ethical issues in a variety of practice areas and jurisdictions. Earlier in her career, she practiced as a public defender for the State of Colorado. Prior to entering the legal profession, she earned her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Community Organization and Development from the University of Tennessee and served as the director of a community prevention coalition in rural Northwest Tennessee for several years.
