Christopher Dan
Associate
Christopher W. Dan is an associate at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP, where he specializes in complex commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and natural resources litigation. His practice includes contract disputes, business torts, disputes involving property rights, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, products liability, disputes between operators and working interest owners, trade secrets, among other matters. Throughout his career, Christopher has represented a broad range of clients, including internet service providers, oil and gas companies, mining companies, private equity firms, luxury hotels and resorts, hospitals, and governmental bodies.
Prior to practicing law, Christopher served as a law clerk to the Honorable William G. Montgomery of the Arizona Supreme Court and to the Honorable David D. Weinzweig of the Arizona Court of Appeals. He received his J.D., with honors, from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. During law school, he was an articles editor for the Arizona State Law Journal, a teaching assistant for research and writing courses, and a research assistant in Federal Indian Law. He also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Clint Bolick at the Arizona Supreme Court.
Christopher maintains an active pro bono practice. In addition to volunteering with the Colorado Lawyers Committee and assisting families and others in need of legal services, he currently serves as secretary to the Colorado Pledge to Diversity and on Davis Graham’s DEI Committee. Christopher has also been admitted to the 2025-2026 Leadership Arts program through the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA).
Outside the office, Christopher enjoys grilling and experimenting in the kitchen, going to the movies, and rooting for the University of Michigan (Class of 2014). Go Blue!

- Defend sale of gas leases against alleged breaches of purchase and sale agreements
- Defend acquisition of mineral rights against third party arguing superior rights in expedited procedure
- Negotiate and defend against environmental tort claims relative to oil well’s loss of control
- Develop expert report regarding JOAs and other contractual issues between operators and working interest owners
- Defend against contractual claims in pricing dispute regarding precious metals refining
