Claire Mueller is a partner at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP, where she has practiced since 2015. Her practice encompasses a variety of complex commercial litigation, with a large portion focused on product liability and personal injury defense. She also has experience with litigation, complex commercial disputes, corporate control disputes, and real estate disputes. Claire’s experience includes representing clients before juries, appellate courts, arbitrators, and mediators. She has represented clients from the automotive, legal, energy, aerospace, real estate, and construction industries, among others. She has experience in all stages of trial practice, including researching, drafting, and arguing filings in trial courts, leading discovery efforts, acting as trial counsel in multi-day trials, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in appellate courts. Claire also maintains an active pro bono practice, where she often uses her skills as a fluent Spanish speaker.

Claire currently serves on the board of directors of Family Star Montessori. She is a member of the 2023 Colorado Bar Association Leadership Training (COBALT) Program and is a graduate of the Denver Metro Leadership Foundation’s Impact Denver program.

Prior to joining Davis Graham, Claire earned her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where she received various writing awards and  oral advocacy awards.

Born and raised in Denver, Claire graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a degree in Peace and Justice Studies. During the five years between graduating from college and attending law school, Claire lived in Ecuador, where she taught English and became fluent in Spanish.

Representative Experience

  • Drafted post-trial motions that secured a new trial from the presiding federal court judge after evidentiary and prejudicial errors warranted vacating a $60 million dollar verdict against an automotive client.
  • Briefed—in both the district court and appellate court—a novel issue of law in a tort case, which the Colorado Court of Appeals decided in the client’s favor.
  • Has facilitated various favorable settlements in high value personal injury and product liability cases.
  • Manages breach of warranty dockets in Colorado for various automotive clients.
  • Helped a client secure its ownership of a water company after prior owners attempted to challenge and obstruct the client’s control of the company.
  • Acted as associate counsel defending an engineering company against $170 million in claimed damages on contract, negligence, and fraud claims, where the jury rejected the negligence and fraud claims entirely and awarded a small fraction of the alleged contract damages.
  • Helped obtain a mutual walk-away settlement agreement in a contract and fraud dispute between international aerospace companies.
