Katie Stern is an associate at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP, where her practice focuses on corporate transactional law, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and other general corporate matters.

Katie represents U.S. and international clients from a wide variety of industries, including but not limited to private equity, manufacturing and distribution, hospitality, waste management, mining, and professional services. 

Katie received her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She also holds a B.B.A. and an MPAcc. from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. 

Before pursuing a career as an attorney, Katie worked as an external auditor with Ernst & Young and was the Finance Director at Purple Door Coffee, a Denver-based nonprofit that provided job-training to young adults experiencing homelessness. 

Katie is a member of the Mile High United Way Catalyst Society, a group of business leaders in the Denver Metro area focused on philanthropic and leadership development. Katie also serves on the Associate Committee and AI Task Force at Davis Graham and is an active member of the Davis Graham Book Club.

  • Skytech, Inc. in its acquisition of Pilatus maintenance and repair operations at De-Kalb-Peachtree Airport from SAR Trilogy Management, LLC.
  • M. Huber Corporation in multiple acquisitions, including the business assets of Natrium Products, Inc. and the equity of Active Minerals International, LLC.
  • Professional Case Management in its acquisition of EmVenio Research, Inc.
  • PDC Energy, Inc. in its merger with Chevron Corporation for a total enterprise value of $7.6 billion. 
  • Multiple early-stage investments by Foundry in technology startup companies.
  • Represented a large family office in connection with the acquisition of Frontier Waste Solutions, a Texas-based solid waste and recycling collection service company.
