Melanie Granberg joined Davis Graham as Of Counsel after more than two decades of experience practicing environmental, health, and safety law at a premier boutique environmental firm in Denver. Her practice encompasses a broad range of matters, including regulatory compliance, permitting, enforcement, transactions, and litigation. She regularly advises clients in matters involving RCRA, CERCLA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and state equivalent programs. She offers comprehensive assistance to clients facing regulatory enforcement proceedings, air and hazardous waste permitting, environmental self-audit and voluntary disclosures, environmental due diligence, site remediation, and Brownfields redevelopment. Melanie regularly assists clients with crisis management in response to environmental spills and releases. Asbestos-related matters are a particular area of emphasis for Melanie where she advises owners, contractors, and consultants in all facets of compliance with federal and state asbestos regulations. Similarly, she assists property owners with other similar programs such as lead-based paint compliance and methamphetamine remediation.
Melanie received her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado. She was a multi-term member of the Colorado Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission. Since 2005, Melanie has served as the environmental law coordinating editor for the Colorado Lawyer, the primary publication of the Colorado Bar Association.
She’s admitted to practice in Colorado, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
