Tariq Adawi is a partner at Davis Graham, where he leads a dynamic corporate practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, strategic business transactions, and corporate governance matters. With extensive experience representing clients across a broad spectrum of industries, Tariq is well-regarded for his ability to navigate the intricacies of business law with a practical, results-oriented approach. His work spans the entire business lifecycle—from advising on start-up formations, early-stage capital raises, and corporate structuring to helping clients execute successful exit strategies and manage post-acquisition integration efforts.
Tariq’s practice is rooted in mergers and acquisitions, where he has successfully represented buyers and sellers ranging from start-ups and family-owned businesses to established multinational corporations and public companies. He provides counsel on all aspects of M&A, including deal structuring, due diligence strategy, negotiation, and drafting complex purchase and sale agreements, ensuring his clients maximize value while minimizing risk. Additionally, Tariq advises on private equity transactions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and divestitures, tailoring his legal strategies to meet the unique business and financial objectives of each client.

Tariq’s experience is broad and diverse, having represented clients in numerous industries such as art and design, asset management, automotive, aviation, hospitality, energy, food and beverage, manufacturing, sports and entertainment, private equity, publishing, retail, real estate, software and technology, social media, and transportation.
In addition to his transactional work, Tariq regularly advises clients on ongoing corporate governance matters, compliance, and risk management strategies, ensuring that businesses remain in good standing and are well-positioned for future growth. Tariq has been named a Colorado Rising Star by Thomson Reuters from 2020 to 2022. Prior to joining Davis Graham, he practiced at a boutique corporate law firm in Denver. Previously, Tariq co-founded a technology start-up based in Kansas City, Missouri, where he co-invented, designed, and patented a way to aggregate, gamify, and display social media content in a mobile application format. Earlier in his career, he founded his own design and web development consultancy alongside the Slashthree International Art Collective. Recognizing that no two clients are the same, Tariq leverages his creativity and past experiences as a founder to provide clients with unique and practical solutions to their legal needs.
Tariq received his J.D. from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law and his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri. In law school, he was a national champion of the Intellectual Property LawMeets® Negotiation Competition and was continuously recognized on the Dean’s List.
Tariq currently serves as a member of the Steering Committee for the Colorado Lawyers Committee’s Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic, which pairs members of Colorado’s nonprofit business community with teams of diverse attorneys who provide pro bono legal services via a semiannual clinic. He also oversees Davis Graham’s involvement in the CLC’s Nonprofit Match Program. Tariq serves on the Board of Directors for Trout Unlimited’s West Denver chapter and previously co-led the Bloedel-Adawi Pupilage Group of the Minoru Yasui American Inn of Court.
