Almira Moronne has joined the Natural Resources Department and Daniel Richards has joined the Trial Department of Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP.

Almira Moronne

Almira Moronne is not admitted in Colorado but her application for admission is pending. She is admitted in New York. Her practice focuses primarily on mining and public lands law, representing clients in the business of exploring for and developing hard rock minerals, as well as industrial minerals, coal, uranium, and other energy resources. Ms. Moronne represents mining clients in transactions, joint ventures, and exploration and development agreements. She also advises clients on environmental, species protection, and historical/cultural resource compliance.

Prior to joining Davis Graham, Ms. Moronne worked as a Foreign Legal Advisor at a prominent law firm in Jakarta, Indonesia, advising foreign and domestic investors in mining, agriculture, infrastructure, financial services, and technology, including the first Indonesian “unicorn” companies and globally dominant internet companies. During her time in Indonesia, she also served as a Policy Advisor to WWF-Indonesia, helping the organization develop guidelines on land use and marine conservation.

Ms. Moronne earned her J.D. with honors from Duke University, where she served as a staff editor of the Duke Law Journal and a research and articles editor of the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum. She also holds a B.A., with honors, from the University of California, Berkeley.

Ms. Moronne is a member of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. She was a listed co-author of the Indonesian chapters of Getting the Deal Through – Mergers & Acquisitions 2014 and 2015 in addition to co-authoring numerous articles and publications on Indonesian mining, infrastructure, electricity, and insurance laws. Ms. Moronne speaks English, Spanish, and Indonesian.

Daniel Richards

Mr. Richards represents clients in complex civil litigation and has spent most of the last decade representing sizable domestic and international corporations in some of the largest and most consequential civil lawsuits and arbitrations pending throughout the U.S. He has represented clients at multiple trials involving antitrust, securities, patent, and products liability claims. Mr. Richards also has extensive discovery and pretrial experience, including examinations of key fact and expert witnesses and oral advocacy. His expertise spans a broad range of substantive areas, including breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, products liability, securities, antitrust, professional malpractice, patent, copyright, rights of publicity, and probate. Mr. Richards has particularly deep experience representing clients in the financial services, pharmaceutical, television and entertainment, and industrial chemicals industries.

Prior to joining Davis Graham, Mr. Richards practiced at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Denny Chin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Richards received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he was the managing editor of the Fordham Law Review. He attended Miami University and received a B.S. in finance.

Mr. Richards is admitted to practice in Colorado and New York, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the District of Colorado, Southern District of New York, and Eastern District of New York, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and U.S. Tax Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, and Denver Bar Association.
