Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that Kendall Godley has been named the recipient of the 2023 Sam Cary Bar Association’s Billy Lewis Young Lawyer Award. This prestigious honor is presented at the Sam Cary Scholarship Endowment Fund Annual Gala to attorneys under the age of 40 who have been practicing for less than five years and embody the spirit and drive of Billy Lewis, a founding member of SCBA. As a young lawyer, Billy was an outstanding trial lawyer in the state and took on challenging cases. The award celebrates promising young lawyers who have demonstrated an elevated level of dedication and loyalty to the legal profession.

Mr. Godley, an active member of the SCBA, has demonstrated a deep commitment to the community and legal profession. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Colorado Springs Black Chamber of Commerce and Denver Kids Inc., a Denver-based 501(c)(3) that supports students at Denver Public Schools through high school and in their pursuit of postsecondary opportunities. Mr. Godley continues to scale his engagement by supporting local communities and promoting equitable access to legal services. Over the past year, he has completed over 200 hours of pro bono work providing transactional legal assistance. In addition, he has served as guardian ad litem with the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center and represented a client with the Colorado Poverty Law Project.

At Davis Graham, Mr. Godley focuses his practice on corporate transactional law, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and general corporate matters. He has contributed to several journals, including Wall Street Lawyer and the Colorado Lawyer, where he co-authors a column dedicated to creating a supportive and informational platform for attorneys to share their experiences, stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in the legal field, and foster stronger legal communities across the state by providing a valuable resource to junior attorneys.

He brings fresh and innovative ideas to help carry out the mission of the Sam Cary Bar Association and has proactively stepped up to offer mentorship to those coming up after him.
