Alex Paalborg

Alex Paalborg is of counsel in the Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions Group at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP. He advises clients on legal issues related to data privacy, technology, intellectual property, and commercial transactions. Building off of his experience working with early stage startups to Fortune 30 corporations, he helps businesses of all sizes streamline evolving federal, state, and international privacy requirements and create privacy programs in a practical and risk-based way. Alex’s work also includes counseling on product/service development and data management, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence (AI), IOT and connected devices, gaming, and other strategic initiatives. He negotiates a variety of agreements involving the development, transfer, and licensing of data, he helps establish processes for receiving and responding to consumers’ data rights requests, draft internal and external-facing policies and notices, and conduct M&A due diligence.
Before rejoining Davis Graham, Alex worked at Comcast in Philadelphia, PA as a part of its Privacy and Legal Information Security team, where he advised on numerous issues associated with data privacy, including product/service development, M&A, and commercial transactions. Prior to joining Davis Graham, Alex worked for a boutique full-service technology law firm in Austin, Texas, where he advised tech entrepreneurs and start-ups on data privacy compliance and tech/IP transactions. He began his career in the public sector, working on legislative, policy, and enforcement issues involving technology and consumer protection. During law school, Alex externed for the Honorable Ignazio Ruvolo of the California Court of Appeals, First Appellate District and the Honorable Laura Taylor, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of California.
Alex is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
