Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that Camila Tobón has joined the firm’s Finance & Acquisitions Department as of counsel and head of the privacy and data security law group. Her practice will continue to have an emphasis on data protection compliance, privacy program management, and breach response.
Ms. Tobón has an extensive record of helping clients address compliance with national and international data protection regulations. She leverages her fluency in differing privacy law frameworks, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and various laws throughout Latin America, to handle information governance, privacy risk management, data subject rights, vendor management, incident response, and privacy program development and implementation.
Reinforcing her distinction in the areas of privacy and data security, Ms. Tobón is a certified Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), as well as a certified Information Privacy Professional in European Law (CIPP/E), U.S. Law (CIPP/U.S.), and Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). She is widely published and regularly speaks on data protection issues for the American Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel, and other leading organizations.
Prior to joining Davis Graham, Ms. Tobón practiced law at Shook, Hardy & Bacon, first in Miami and then in Denver. She is currently admitted to practice law in Colorado and Florida. Ms. Tobón holds a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, an M.Litt. from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and a B.A. from The George Washington University.
