We often separately discuss inclusion in workplaces and wellness in workplaces, but these two areas have not been fully connected and studied in a way that demonstrates how each is less effective without the other. This virtual presentation will delve into the research that Nextions has conducted on the intersection of inclusion and wellness for majority and underrepresented groups and will also touch upon how generational, racial/ethnic, gender, LGBTQI, and other differences impact our understanding of this intersection. This session will provide practical strategies that attendees can take back to implement in their interactions and work habits, and development strategies, especially as our work has transitioned from in-person to virtual and now to a hybrid or fully in-person environment. The tools and techniques to work effectively in virtual and hybrid spaces are different than those we used to use, and they are especially important given the disruptions and stress that our colleagues are facing. This session is designed to delve into the transition to an inclusive environment where all can thrive.

Amidst its many challenges and priorities, the new Administration has already initiated major changes to public lands and environmental policies, with more change to come. During his campaign, President Biden pushed back on charges that he would ban hydraulic fracturing, but also committed to halt oil and gas development on federal lands to instead promote wind and solar energy. Energy development on public lands, however, constitutes just one pivot in a suite of anticipated pivots in federal policy affecting energy development. For example, the Biden-led EPA has resumed the Obama-era federal enforcement and regulatory programs designed to significantly cut methane emissions from the oil and gas sector. Significant changes with impacts across industry sectors are also already in progress or anticipated relative to 404 permitting, the Superfund program, emerging contaminants, and other major initiatives. This discussion will highlight the tools the Administration is using to jumpstart its agenda, including Executive Orders, guidance, and enforcement to effectuate these changes. The Biden Administration’s first year included a flurry of activity at the Department of the Interior – from halting onshore and offshore oil and gas leasing to rolling back Trump-era regulations, proposing to list species under the Endangered Species Act, and announcing new policies and regulations that will impact where and how renewable and conventional energy is developed on federal lands. This webinar will address proposed changes to regulations implementing the National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, and Migratory Bird Treaty Act; proposed listings under the ESA; the America the Beautiful (30 x 30) effort; the state of oil and gas leasing; and efforts to promote renewable energy on public lands. Please join Davis Graham and your industry colleagues for a comprehensive survey of these regulatory and administrative initiatives.
