Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that Madeline J. Smart has joined the firm’s Trial Group as an associate. She is admitted to practice law in Texas; she is not currently admitted to practice law in Colorado.
Ms. Smart’s practice includes complex commercial litigation, internal and government investigations, and bankruptcy proceedings. Prior to joining Davis Graham, Ms. Smart worked as a litigation associate in the Dallas office of an American international law firm. There, she litigated complex disputes for both plaintiffs and defendants in civil and criminal cases at all stages of litigation.
Ms. Smart received her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law, graduating with honors. During law school, she served as an associate editor for the Texas Law Review and was an intern for the Honorable Xavier Rodriguez of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. In addition, she represented clients in labor and employment suits and proceedings as a part of the Transnational Worker Rights Clinic and acted as attorney ad litem for children in the care of the Department of Family and Protective Services as a part of the Children’s Rights Clinic. Ms. Smart also holds a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Economics from Smith College, where she was on the Dean’s List, and spent a year studying in Córdoba, Spain. Following her undergraduate degree and before attending law school, Ms. Smart was a high school teacher with Teach for America.
